SANTANDER, Spain Racing Santander sacked their coach Andoni Goikoetxea with the club second from bottom in the Spanish first division.
Goikoetxea, in his first season in charge after joining from Numancia over the summer, is the fourth coaching casualty in the Spanish first division so far this term.
Club President Miguel Angel Diaz announced the decision two days after a 4-1 defeat at Rayo Vallecano left the club with 10 points from 13 games, just a point clear of bottom club Osasuna.
